Chris E. Tsamutalis, CPA
Chris E. Tsamutalis, founder and Senior Managing Partner at Tsamutalis & Company, began his career at Merrill Lynch where he specialized in foreign securities accounting. Chris also worked for a multi-national forensic accounting firm and later was the controller of an industrial machine concern. He subsequently formed an accounting partnership and rolled it into a full-service accounting and consulting firm. Chris is a business advisor and entrepreneur with diverse experience in business consulting, corporate investment, business valuation, mergers and acquisitions, real estate investment, and entity management. His areas of specialization include corporate and partnership income taxation, preparation of reviewed and compiled financial statements, general business consultation and management advisory services.
Chris also has extensive experience with early-stage companies and working with entrepreneurs ensuring that they establish effective business practices from initial formation. He has also orchestrated distressed company turnarounds, negotiated tax workouts with the IRS and state taxing authorities, and has experience with the SBA and EDA regarding small business financing structures.
Chris has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Taxation from FDU in Teaneck. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of New Jersey and is a member of the New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA). He has served on the Board of Directors of the Cathedral of St. John the Theologian and was also elected to its Executive Council. He also sat on the board of directors for two non-profit organizations as their treasurer. He currently heads the audit committee at the Kimisis Church in Southampton, New York and also sits on the board of directors of three emerging growth companies.
